Description
A simple recipe for making low-calorie, bone broth-based gummy treats to support your dog’s weight management.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup low-sodium beef bone broth
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (melted)
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon parsley (finely chopped, for breath)
Instructions
- Pour the bone broth and water into a small saucepan.
- Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the liquid surface. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Place the saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the melted coconut oil and optional parsley.
- Carefully pour the liquid mixture into silicone molds (small candy or ice cube trays work well).
- Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Pop the gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Always check with your veterinarian before introducing new supplements or treats into your dog’s diet.
- These treats are best served cold.
- Adjust the amount of gelatin slightly if you prefer a firmer or softer gummy texture.
