Description

A savory and chewy jerky made with ground turkey and oats, seasoned for digestive health.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey, rolled oats, water, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheet, about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the jerky and your oven.
  5. Let the jerky cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking it into pieces or cutting it into strips.
  6. Store the jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer storage.

Notes

  • For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Ensure the jerky is completely dry before storing to prevent mold.
  • You can adjust the seasonings to your preference.
