A savory and chewy jerky made with ground turkey and oats, seasoned for digestive health.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey, rolled oats, water, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheet, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the jerky and your oven.
- Let the jerky cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking it into pieces or cutting it into strips.
- Store the jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer storage.
Notes
- For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Ensure the jerky is completely dry before storing to prevent mold.
- You can adjust the seasonings to your preference.
