Description

A simple recipe for homemade turkey jerky with a refreshing mint flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried mint, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Spread the turkey mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheets, creating a uniform layer.
  4. Bake for 4 to 6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your jerky and your oven.
  5. Once dried, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Break or cut the jerky into desired pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer storage.

Notes

  • For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Ensure the turkey mixture is spread very thinly for even drying.
  • Check the jerky periodically during the last hour of baking to prevent over-drying.
