Description
A simple recipe for homemade turkey jerky with a refreshing mint flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried mint
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried mint, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Spread the turkey mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheets, creating a uniform layer.
- Bake for 4 to 6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your jerky and your oven.
- Once dried, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
- Break or cut the jerky into desired pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer storage.
Notes
- For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Ensure the turkey mixture is spread very thinly for even drying.
- Check the jerky periodically during the last hour of baking to prevent over-drying.
