Description

A healthy and flavorful jerky made with turkey and carrots.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated carrots, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Aim for a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
  4. Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The exact time will depend on your oven and the thickness of the jerky.
  5. Once baked, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Break or cut the jerky into desired pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer storage.

Notes

  • For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the mixture.
  • Ensure the jerky is completely dry before storing to prevent mold.
