Description

A simple recipe for making soft turkey and banana jerky.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground turkey, mashed banana, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Spread the mixture thinly and evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Aim for a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
  4. Bake for 4 to 6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and leathery. The time will vary depending on your oven and the thickness of the jerky.
  5. Once baked, remove the jerky from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Break or cut the jerky into desired pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer storage.

Notes

  • Ensure the banana is very ripe for easier mashing and better flavor.
  • For a chewier jerky, bake for a shorter time. For a drier jerky, bake longer.
  • You can adjust the seasonings to your preference.
