Description

A lean and flavorful jerky made with turkey and apple.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, applesauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Score the jerky into strips using a knife or pizza cutter.
  5. Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm.
  6. Let cool completely before storing.

Notes

  • For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Store jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
