Description
Simple recipe for homemade bone broth gummies designed to help calm your dog.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
- 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers (optional, for added calming effect)
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil (for greasing molds)
Instructions
- Lightly grease silicone molds with coconut oil.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of gelatin over the cold broth and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- If using chamomile, gently warm the remaining bone broth in the saucepan over low heat. Do not boil.
- Whisk the bloomed gelatin mixture into the warm broth until completely dissolved. If using chamomile, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the flowers.
- Carefully pour the liquid mixture into the prepared silicone molds.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Once set, pop the gummies out of the molds. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Always use bone broth made without onions or garlic, as these are toxic to dogs.
- Start with a small piece to gauge your dog’s tolerance.
- These gummies are best kept refrigerated and used within 7 to 10 days.
