Description

Simple recipe for making soft, chewy training treats using bone broth for dogs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup beef bone broth, low sodium
  • 1/2 cup unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional, for flavor)

Instructions

  1. Pour the bone broth into a small saucepan.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water in a separate small bowl and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  3. Gently heat the bone broth over low heat until warm, but do not boil.
  4. Remove the broth from the heat. Stir in the bloomed gelatin mixture until completely dissolved. If using, stir in the nutritional yeast now.
  5. Pour the liquid mixture into a shallow baking dish or silicone mold suitable for small treats.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm.
  7. Cut the set gelatin into small, bite-sized squares or use small cookie cutters.
  8. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, low-sodium bone broth for the best results.
  • If the mixture is too sticky after setting, you can lightly dust the cut pieces with a small amount of rice flour.
  • These treats are best consumed within 7 to 10 days when refrigerated.
