Description
Homemade chewy treats made with bone broth and parsley to help freshen your dog’s breath.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup beef or chicken bone broth
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for palatability)
Instructions
- Pour the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the broth and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Gently heat the broth and gelatin mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the melted coconut oil and honey, if using.
- Stir in the finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Pour the mixture into silicone molds (small candy or gummy molds work well).
- Refrigerate for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until completely firm.
- Pop the gummies out of the molds. Store the finished gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- If your dog has specific dietary restrictions, substitute the bone broth with a suitable alternative like vegetable broth, ensuring it is unsalted.
- You can use different shapes of silicone molds based on your preference.
- Start by giving your dog one or two gummies per day and monitor for any digestive changes.
