Description

A simple recipe for homemade, chewy bone broth gummies designed to support your dog’s joint health.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (to aid turmeric absorption)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for coating)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold broth and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of cold bone broth, turmeric powder, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into silicone molds (small candy or ice cube trays work well).
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm.
  6. Once set, carefully remove the gummies from the molds. If using coconut oil, lightly coat the gummies to prevent sticking.
  7. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • Always use bone broth made without onions or garlic, as these are toxic to dogs.
  • Adjust the size of the gummies based on your dog’s weight and size.
  • Introduce new treats slowly to monitor for any digestive upset.
