Description
A simple recipe for making nutritious, homemade dry dog food kibble featuring turkey and broccoli.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 2 cups finely chopped broccoli florets
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped broccoli, whole wheat flour, water, eggs, coconut oil, and dried parsley. Mix until just combined.
- Roll the mixture out onto a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Use a small cookie cutter or knife to cut the dough into small, bite-sized kibble shapes.
- Place the cut pieces onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the kibble is firm and lightly browned.
- Turn off the oven and leave the kibble inside with the door slightly ajar for another 30 minutes to dry out completely.
- Store cooled kibble in an airtight container.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken or beef for the turkey.
- If you do not have coconut oil, use another safe cooking oil.
- Ensure the kibble is completely dry before storing to prevent mold.
