Description
Simple recipe for making dog-safe, chewy gummies using bone broth and gelatin for added nutrition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
- 4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for greasing)
- 1/2 teaspoon dog-safe multivitamin powder (check dosage with your vet)
Instructions
- Lightly grease a silicone mold or a small, shallow pan with coconut oil.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of gelatin over the liquid and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Do not boil.
- Remove the mixture from the heat. Stir in the remaining 3/4 cup of cold bone broth and the multivitamin powder until well combined.
- Pour the liquid mixture into your prepared silicone mold or pan.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Once set, cut the mixture into small, bite-sized squares or use the shapes from the mold.
- Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
Notes
- Always consult your veterinarian before adding new supplements to your dog’s diet.
- Adjust the size of the gummies based on your dog’s weight and size.
- If using a pan, cut the set gelatin into small squares after chilling.
