Description

Simple recipe for making nutritious homemade dog kibble using ground beef and quinoa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped spinach
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked quinoa, chopped carrots, chopped spinach, eggs, and water. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Press the mixture firmly onto the prepared baking sheet, aiming for a uniform thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the beef is fully cooked and the edges are slightly firm.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet.
  6. Once cool, cut the mixture into small, bite-sized kibble shapes using a knife or pizza cutter.
  7. Store the kibbles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
  • Ensure the quinoa is fully cooked before mixing it into the batter.
  • Cut the kibbles into sizes appropriate for your dog’s breed and chewing ability.
