Description
Homemade gelatin gummies made with bone broth and ginger to support your dog’s digestion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for palatability)
Instructions
- Pour the cold water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Gently warm the bone broth in a small saucepan over low heat. Do not boil.
- Remove the broth from the heat. Stir in the bloomed gelatin mixture until it is completely dissolved and the liquid is clear.
- Stir in the grated ginger and honey, if using.
- Pour the mixture into silicone molds (small candy molds work well).
- Refrigerate for at least 2 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Once set, remove the gummies from the molds. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Give 1 to 2 gummies per day depending on your dog’s size.
- If your dog does not like ginger, you can omit it, but the soothing properties will be reduced.
- Always consult your veterinarian before introducing new supplements to your dog’s diet.
