Description

Simple recipe for making homemade, healthy bone broth gummy treats for your dog.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups beef or chicken bone broth (unseasoned, low sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for coating)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold broth and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the remaining 3 cups of cold bone broth.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into silicone molds shaped like bones or small squares.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm.
  6. If using coconut oil, lightly grease the molds before pouring the liquid for easier removal.
  7. Once set, carefully remove the gummies from the molds.
  8. Store the gummy bones in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.

Notes

  • Always use broth made without onions, garlic, or excessive salt, as these ingredients are harmful to dogs.
  • If the gummies are too soft, slightly increase the amount of gelatin in your next batch.
  • You can freeze these treats for longer storage.
