Description
A simple recipe for making soft, chewy chicken jerky with a honey glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Slice chicken breast thinly, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Add chicken slices to the marinade and toss to coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange chicken slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 2 to 4 hours, or until the jerky is dry and chewy. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your chicken slices and your oven.
- Let the jerky cool completely on a wire rack before storing.
Notes
- For a spicier jerky, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
- Store jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
