A healthy and simple homemade jerky recipe.
Ingredients

- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Slice chicken breast thinly against the grain.
- In a bowl, combine chicken slices with grated carrot, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken.
- Marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C).
- Arrange the marinated chicken slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The time will vary depending on the thickness of your slices and your oven.
- Let the jerky cool completely before storing.
Notes
- For a chewier jerky, bake for a shorter time. For a drier jerky, bake for longer.
- Store jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
