Chicken Carrot Fitness Jerky

Description

A healthy and simple homemade jerky recipe.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice chicken breast thinly against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, combine chicken slices with grated carrot, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken.
  3. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 4-6 hours, or until the jerky is dry and firm. The time will vary depending on the thickness of your slices and your oven.
  7. Let the jerky cool completely before storing.

Notes

  • For a chewier jerky, bake for a shorter time. For a drier jerky, bake for longer.
  • Store jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
