Description
A simple recipe for making chicken and banana jerky.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breast into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Mash the ripe banana in a bowl.
- Add the soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder to the mashed banana and mix well to create a marinade.
- Place the chicken strips in the marinade and ensure they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C).
- Arrange the marinated chicken strips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 2 to 4 hours, or until the jerky is dry and leathery. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your strips and your oven.
- Let the jerky cool completely before storing.
Notes
- For a chewier jerky, bake for a shorter time. For a drier, more brittle jerky, bake for longer.
- Store the jerky in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for longer storage.
