Description

Simple recipe for homemade, chewable supplements for canine bone and joint support.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup beef bone broth, cooled
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 teaspoon calcium powder (food grade)
  • 1 teaspoon collagen powder (food grade)

Instructions

  1. Pour the cooled bone broth and water into a small saucepan.
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the liquid and let it bloom for five minutes.
  3. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  5. Whisk in the calcium powder and collagen powder until fully incorporated and smooth.
  6. Pour the liquid mixture into silicone gummy molds.
  7. Refrigerate for at least four hours, or until completely firm.
  8. Pop the gummies out of the molds.
  9. Store the finished gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Give your dog one or two gummies daily, depending on size.
  • If your dog does not like the flavor, you can add a small amount of unsweetened peanut butter before chilling.
