Description

Simple recipe for homemade bone broth gummies to support your dog’s bone health.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
  • 1/4 cup unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 teaspoon calcium powder supplement (pet grade)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for blooming gelatin)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of the bone broth into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the liquid and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a small saucepan, gently heat the remaining 1 3/4 cups of bone broth over low heat until warm, but not boiling.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Whisk in the bloomed gelatin mixture until it is completely dissolved and no granules remain.
  4. Stir in the calcium powder supplement until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the mixture into silicone molds (gummy bear or small square molds work well).
  6. Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until the gummies are firm.
  7. Remove the gummies from the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Always use bone broth made without onions, garlic, or excessive salt.
  • Store unused gummies in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Give these as a treat; do not substitute for your dog’s regular meals.
