Description

Simple recipe for making homemade bone broth gummies for dogs using blue spirulina for color.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups beef or chicken bone broth (unseasoned)
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 teaspoon blue spirulina powder
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for coating)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold broth and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of cold bone broth and the blue spirulina powder until fully combined and the color is uniform.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into silicone molds (small candy molds or ice cube trays work well).
  5. Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until the gummies are firm.
  6. Carefully remove the gummies from the molds. If using coconut oil, lightly grease the molds before pouring, or lightly rub the finished gummies with coconut oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Always use bone broth made without salt, onions, garlic, or other ingredients toxic to dogs.
  • If the gummies are too soft, slightly increase the gelatin amount in the next batch.
  • These gummies must be kept refrigerated.
