Description
Simple recipe for making homemade bone broth gummies for dogs with a berry flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups beef bone broth, unsalted
- 1/4 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for palatability)
Instructions
- Combine the bone broth and mixed berries in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers gently. Do not boil.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Mash the berries slightly with a fork.
- Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the warm liquid. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Whisk the mixture thoroughly until the gelatin is completely dissolved and no lumps remain.
- If using, stir in the honey.
- Pour the liquid into silicone molds (small candy or ice cube trays work well).
- Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Pop the gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Always use unsalted, high-quality bone broth when preparing treats for your dog.
- If your dog has specific dietary restrictions, omit the optional honey.
- These gummies are best consumed within one week when stored properly in the refrigerator.
