Description
Simple recipe for homemade bone broth gummies designed to support aging dogs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups beef or chicken bone broth (low sodium)
- 1/4 cup unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional, for B vitamins)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional, for anti-inflammatory support)
Instructions
- Pour 1/2 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder evenly over the top and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
- Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil the mixture.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of cold bone broth, nutritional yeast, and turmeric powder, if using. Mix well.
- Pour the liquid mixture into silicone molds (small candy or gummy molds work well).
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Pop the gummies out of the molds. Store the finished gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Always use low-sodium or homemade bone broth for your dog’s safety.
- If your dog has specific dietary restrictions, consult your veterinarian before adding supplements like turmeric.
- These gummies must be kept refrigerated.
