  • Diet: Low Fat

Description

Simple recipe for homemade bone broth gummies designed to support joint health in dogs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Beef or Chicken Bone Broth (low sodium)
  • 4 tablespoons Unflavored Gelatin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper (for turmeric absorption)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1/2 cup of the bone broth into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold broth and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. Gently heat the saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Do not boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of bone broth, turmeric, ginger, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into silicone molds (gummy bear or small square molds work well).
  5. Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until completely firm.
  6. Pop the gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Always use bone broth made without onions or garlic, as these are toxic to dogs.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 10 days or freeze for longer storage.
  • Start with one gummy per day for small dogs and increase to two or three for larger dogs, based on your veterinarian’s advice.
